Pathways Batch 8 ends another wonderful journey!
Last March 14, Pathways saw 86 junior high school students from Marikina, Payatas ang Quezon City march up the stage of Teatro Marikina to receive their certificates for completing and passing the Pathways Enrichment Classes for the past year.
The event was graced by the presence of Marikina City Vice Mayor Dr. Marion Andres, High School Principals and Pathways Coordinators, Parents, Pathways alumni and staff.
The program was made special by the welcoming words of Vice Mayor Andres, inspirational talk of Pathways graduate Julie Ann Manguerra, words of encouragement from Pathways tutor Vince Rodriguez and words of gratitude from this years valedictorian, Yomkippur Perez. The students also prepared special numbers for the guests and peformed an exciting dance number learned during the semester and a comic skit sumarizing what they ave learned from the Social Awareness Development Workshops.
The following outstanding students were recognized for their outstanding participation:
Yomkippur Perez from Balara Hills National High School, Valedictorian;
Leana Isabel Vibal from Marikina Science High School, Salutatorian; and
Tristan Joshua Alba from Marikina Science High School, Honorable Mention.
Awards were also given to 31 students who excelled in Chemistrry, English and Mathematics, as well as in Social Awareness Development.
It truly was a special occassion to see the students end another year with Pathways and begin anew with more confidence and determination, and a step closer to their dream of quality higher education.
The program ended with the students singing At the Beginning – a perfect song for a group going on a journey of more self-discovery, learning and realizing dreams.
