October 25 (Day 1): The Fair Opens

SM Mall of Asia's Assistant Mall Manager Ms. Nona Reyes opens the fair with a speech on the mall's agreement to host the event. Ms. Nona Reyes, Assistant Mall Manager, SM Mall of Asia Usec. Antonio Inocentes, Presidential Assistant for Education, was also present to relate to students his experiences when he was also one, and how the project can have a significant impact to those looking for opportunities to continue their studies. Students from Ateneo de Manila give out information materials to inquiring high school students. SM Foundation scholars pose in front of their booth with the guests. The students were given their time to approach all the booths and ask information on how they can apply and the scholarsship and financial aid programs they offer. Students excitedly fill-up applications forms and slips they were able to obtain from participating schools for free. High schools sent delegations of students to the event for wider coverage. More than 150 students attended the opening of the event. Some took to the sides to get a closer look of the stage and listen to the speakers. Among those who participated in the fair is the Far Eastern University in Manila. A representative of the National Teachers College is shown here answering a question from an interested high school student. Delegations from different high schools kept pouring in the entire day.
