Update on Pathways Relief Efforts

Last Saturday, September 26, 2009, Philippine typhoon Ondoy [International name: Ketsana] hit the Philippines and brought one month’s worth of rain in just a few hours.
Countless families have lost almost everything – their homes, food, drinking water, clothes, and even for some, the little possessions that they had.
The Pathways students and staff were also affected by Ondoy’s onslaught. We have been able to get in touch with a few students, and though we haven’t heard from all them, possibly due to intermittent signal in the area, low cellphone batteries, or washed away phones, we have been able to gather the immediate needs of our students:
- Food – noodles, canned goods, biscuits, powdered drinks
- Clothes
- Drinking water
- Cleaning materials
- Toiletries
THANK YOU to all our friends and donors who have generously donated the goods needed by our staff, students and their families. Since Monday, we have received boxes and boxes of canned goods, drinking water and clothes. :)
We would also like to thank our volunteers for manning the office, helping us get in touch with all our students, carrying donations and re-packing the relief goods.

Thank you so much for all your generosity and love for our Pathways family!

In the meantime, we are suspending operations due to the coming storm Pepeng [International Name: Parma], expected to be in the Philippines this weekend. We ask for your continued prayers, especially for those who have yet to recover from the damage brought about by Ondoy.
Be safe, everybody!
