Last November 8 & 9, 2008, Pathways elevated the message of Magaling ang Pinoy to another level by training individuals that would help in disseminating the five B.E.S.T. practices of good parenting.(Attention, Building Self Esteem, Communication, Discipline and Establishing a Supportive Home Environment)
Fifteen promising volunteer parents from Quezon City’s District III including their own Councilor Jorge “Bolet” Banal underwent a rigorous two-day Trainors Training under Ateneo-Pathways trainors Pia Acevedo and Maribel Sison-Dionisio at the Develpoment Academy of the Philippines, Tagaytay City.

The intensive two-day training module promises to transform these shy but potential-filled men and women into confident trainors who now form part of the QC B.E.S.T Batch 1 Trainors who will in turn teach the five basic values to make better families to parents of public school students in District 3.

Pia Acevedo led the team in releasing their inhibitions and building the all important skills needed to confidently and competently address large audiences. The trainees were also treated to an in-depth discussion on the five basic values straight from Magaling ang Pinoy co-author, Maribel Sison-Dionisio herself. Ms. Dionisio enthusiastically showed her support by staying the entire two days and generously providing valuable feedback to further hone the trainees presentation skills.
Now, the ABaKaDa ng QC B.E.S.T Parents Batch 1 Trainors are ready advocates of better families. First stop: their very ABaKaDa ng QC B.E.S.T Parents on November 14 at the Aguinaldo Elementary School.
The ABaKaDa ng QC B.E.S.T is joint project between the Pathways to Higher Education of the Ateneo de Manila University and the local government of Quezon City through the Office of Councilor Jorge “Bolet” Banal in District 3.
