Summer Activities
The 4th Pathways Youth Conference and Pathways’ 5th Anniversary Celebration For four years now, Pathways gathers its youth volunteers nationwide for an annual Youth Conference to provide get updates on their activities and to consolidate their efforts and revisit their group objectives. This year and for the third time, the Pathways Youth Conference (PYC) will be held at the Ateneo de Manila campus on April 19-21 (Thursday – Saturday). Themed “Forging ties @ 5 Years”, our youth leaders nationwide will undergo different seminars and workshops aimed at improving their respective groups’ relationship and partnership with local education stakeholders to generate wider awareness and support for their own projects. An anniversary dinner will be held on April 20 to celebrate Pathways vision, to be participated in by partners from the education sector, goverment, corporate, and civil society circles.
educaTHON: A Walk for Education To cap April’s Youth Conference and anniversary celebration, Pathways would like to bring more attention to the plight of the education sector by organizing the first educaTHON, a walkathon aimed at increasing awareness of the education system, on April 21 (Saturday) at the Marikina Riverbanks Center. The walkathon will pass through A. Bonifacio Avenue and will assemble at the Marikina Sports Complex, where a fund-raising program and NGO Fair will be held. Academic
ALAY NI IGNACIO (ANI) & HANDOG NA ORAS PARA SA EDUKASYON (HOPE) are the youth arms of Pathways in Ateneo. It is an organization that holds a summer tutorial program for our incoming third year and incoming fourth year high school participants and with HOPE, we are also reaching out to grade school students as well
COLLEGE PREPARATORY CLASSES held thrice a week, this program is given to incoming college students to help them get a feel of what is discussed in college classes.
PAY-IT-FORWARD a replication of the ANI program, the pay-it-forward is organized by the Pathways college student participants and given to public high school students as a way of showing gratitude for all the help they?��Ǩ�Ѣve received in their studies. It targets the students of the lower sections of the public high schools.
Workshops & Recreational Activities
WONDER SCIENCE is a program developed by Ms. Ma. Isabel Garcia. It aims to introduce high school senior students into the wonderful world of Science.
FIELD TRIP & SPORTSFEST are activities aimed to promote sportsmanship and develop the value of teamwork and camaraderie among the participants.
SY 2006-2007
Workshops:
Self Enhancement Workshop – The SEW is given to our 4th year high school participants. It aims to equip the students with the necessary knowledge, about themselves, and skills that will allow them to efficiently face the challenges of college life.
Social Awareness Development Program – The program is given to 3rd Year High School Participants the goal of which is to nurture nationalism and volunteerism among its participants.
Self Awareness Program – given to 2nd year high school participants aimed to help students acquire a better self-concept and build self-esteem.
Academic Programs:
Tutorials (Math and English) – given to 3rd year high school students that aim to give participants the opportunity to review and put into practice lessons learned from the classroom.
College Assistance Program – To assist participants in acquiring a college education, the EducDev team provides them with activities such as College Talks, Career Talks and Career Testing and guidance.
General Assemblies – college general assemblies are held one Sunday a month. Workshops and talks are given, which aims to arm them with skills and knowledge that they can use to better their performance in class and in their organizations.
Leadership Training Seminar – held once a year for three days, it is composed of a series of intensive workshops that will allow the students to understand and imbibe the organization’s Leadership Framework and Core Values.
